IV - INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY NUTRITION AND AGING (IANA)

The International Academy of Nutrition & Aging (IANA), an internal department of SERDI, was created in 1999 with the aim of coordinating and developing research, training and the spread of knowledge about the health of the elderly.

The Academy has organized two important congresses, in Paris 29-30 June 2001 and in Albuquerque, USA, 10-12 July 2003 in collaboration with the Unversity of New Mexico. Each congress was attended by several hundred participants.

In 2004, IANA will be contributing in particular to organizing the Tokyo Symposium on Nutrition and Alzheimer's Disease on 1-2 October and the 4th Congress on Nutrition and Health in the Elderly People on 4-5 November in Toulouse.

IANA has set up networks of scientific collaboration with some fifty research centres specializing in nutrition and aging. It offer its scientific cooperation to the Journal Nutrition Health and Aging.
