Nutritional modulators of Physical Function and Aging (Boston, MA, USA) November 1-2, 2007)

The Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University and the IANA are jointly sponsoring a symposium entitled : « Nutritional Modulators of Physical Function and Aging ». This meeting will be held in Boston, MA, USA on November 1 and 2, 2007 at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. The overall goals of this symposium are to bring together nutritional scientifs and gerontologists to discuss the state of the art on the role of nutrient intake on mediating physical functioning in the elderly. Preliminary topics planned for the program include : the role of vitamin D in muscle performance ; protein and amino acid nutrition and physical functioning in the elderly ; micronutrient intake and physical function. In addition, there will be poster sessions, a keynote address, and a number of exciting social functions to promote scientific interactions. The target audience for this symposium is scientists from all fields, physicians, nurses, public health educators and administrators, dieteticians, services providers, and students.
